The Italy That Captured Our Hearts

Italy has held a special place in our hearts for more than 25 years. Over the years, we have travelled through many of its regions, but it was Central Italy that truly won us over with its authenticity, tranquillity and the beautiful combination of sea and mountains. Year after year, we kept coming back until this place began to feel like a second home.

Abruzzo has a very special charm for us. In the morning, you can be by the sea and, after a short drive, find yourself surrounded by mountains and the stunning nature of Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park. This incredible variety – the sea, mountains, nature, historic towns and authentic Italian life – is one of the reasons we fell in love with this region.

The turning point came when we discovered a home right on the beach in Silvi Marina. It was love at first sight – the peace, the sea and the feeling that all you need to do is open the garden gate and you are standing with your feet in the sand. At that moment, we knew we had found a place we wanted not only for our family, but also to share with our guests.

Why Casa Katarina?

We did not want to simply offer another anonymous holiday apartment. Casa Katarina is first and foremost our family home by the sea, furnished and cared for just as we would want it for ourselves.

We have been returning to this part of Italy for many years, so we know not only Silvi and its surroundings, but also places that can easily be missed on a first visit. We are always happy to share our tips and experiences with our guests, so they can discover not only the local beaches, but also the beauty of Abruzzo beyond the coast.

Our Philosophy

We believe in honesty and quality. Cleanliness, comfort and attention to detail are very important to us, and we want every guest to know exactly what to expect from Casa Katarina before they arrive.

Casa Katarina is a place we also use ourselves and one we feel personally connected to. We want our guests to feel at home from the very first day. Whether you come mainly for the sea or to explore Gran Sasso, the surrounding towns and the beauty of Abruzzo, we will be happy if you take home memories just as special as the ones we have been making here for many years.
